Chipboard – Sofa frame
The frame of a sofa is its main structure. It is very important that it is made from strong and durable materials. To manufacture a high-quality sofa, it is necessary to use chipboard with a thickness of at least 16 mm, solid wood with the correct moisture level, and high-quality hardboard.
Particle board (chipboard) is a panel made from crushed wood particles of different sizes, pressed and bonded together with a special type of resin. Panels are produced in different thicknesses, dimensions, and densities.
At the “Siyana Mebel” furniture factory, we use high-quality 16 mm thick chipboard to ensure the strength of our sofas. Each panel is drilled and cut on CNC (computer-controlled) machines, ensuring maximum precision of the components and preventing any mismatch in the holes used for installing mechanisms and assembling the finished sofa.
After the components are cut and drilled, they are assembled and reinforced with solid wood elements, which we order in special dimensions and with a moisture level between 9% and 12%. Hardboard is placed on the back of the structures, which is later softened with foam.
HARDBOARD (HDF – High-Density Fiberboard) consists of wood fiber panels with high density and hardness. Hardboard is used by furniture manufacturers for making the backs of cabinet furniture, as well as bottoms and backs of upholstered furniture.
